Barney Creek Vineyard Wines

Leo's Port

Leo was a professional Ice Skater in the 1950's.

He took delight in travelling the world performing in Ice Follies, Plays and Musicals.

Leo sadly passed away in 2004, although we would like to think that he would be
fond of the vineyard that was planted in his name.

Made from late harvest Petit Verdot, it has chocolate, spice & notes of C hristmas cake followed through to a soft, warm alcoholic finish.

rim dry white

At Barney Creek Vineyard we only grow red grapes, so the grapes for this verdelho were sourced from another Scenic Rim vineyard.  Aromas of fresh crisp apple, honey and lime invite you to taste this wine.

The palate is both structured and balanced, tastes of rich tropical fruit, is complimented be the lingering caramel citrus clean after taste. Classy partner to a long lazy lunch or perfectly delightful served alone.

sunset rose

Shiraz Rosé 2014

Rosé is the perfect drink for the warmer months or with food that has a bit of spice.

Light to medium ruby red colour. Quite deep colour for a rose.

Intense aromas of raspberry, strawberry and cherry fruit.

the palate is underpinned with a line of acidity and balanced with textural components, finishing with hints of spice and a medium length. One taste leaves you wanting more.

Dark and brooding, this wine benefits from decanting to open up the palate.

Very complex bouquet of blackberry, blackcurrant, and anise with hints of leather and spice.

This wine evolves and changes in the glass. the palate is linear with the fruit, acid and tannin structure well balanced. The length is long and silky. This wine will age well.

roma red

Roma's Red

A sweeter style of Shiraz for those of you who like a wine but don't want it dry.

Roma Marshall was a pilot and our label shows her in the cockpit of her
Tiger Moth VH - CJW.

petit verdot

Petit Verdot

Petit Verdot is the staple variety of our vineyard here at Mt Barney.

Lifted aromas of violets on the nose followed by complex spice and dark fruit with some herbal notes.

Sweet dark fruit on the palate with a lovely mid palate richness, rounding to a silky smooth finish with soft and supple tannins. This wine has deceptive power.

Enjoy with our antipasto platter.
